So, I think I may have found something to be involved in. It's a long shot but... we know how much I love those! Ha.
There are these two ministry groups here at good ol' Vanguard called Entourage and Delivery Boys. They're a comedy ministry group actually! Entourage is four girls and Delivery Boys are four boys (I've never seen Entourage perform skits, but D-Boys did theirs last Thursday at Chapel and it was HILARIOUS! I cried from pure laughter!)
So, I've known about Entourage since I researched Vanguard. And from the get go it seemed like something I'd be interested in!
So, when I found out one of my floor aunts, Kayla (Who is from GALT!!?? this is why we know each other! haha) is on Entourage.... a few months ago... I messaged her on facebook asking how to get involved with it...
Well. It's that time of year that people are auditioning for it. Filling out applications. Interviews. And when I saw Kayla a few days ago she asked me about it to make sure I was applying because she was thinking about me for it! I thought I wasn't able to but I realized I meet the requirements. After talking to Kayla I realized... I do!
What's the best part? Is that everyone thinks I would be good at it! My closest friends here, my RA (who, when asked which girl on her floor would be good at it, put me down!), even people I don't know so well. But besides that... When they talk about what they do, I get goosebumps! It's something I can totally see myself doing!
This is basically what they do:
It's representing Vanguard while having fun and ministering at the same time. Training begins in spring semester and continues through the summer. But- during the summer, the groups travel to church camps, youth groups, etc. being with the kids, serving in kitchens, cleaning up. Only an hour of the week is spent on stage doing skits and being funny. How amazing does that sound!?!
If I do get in... This means I won't be home much for summer (it's a paying job, actually!). Which is.... okay with me! I understand that there's a whole process and a chance that I won't make it... But last time I took a chance it felt and turned out pretty great :)
So here's to chances!
The title comes from the poem "A Psalm of Life" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I believe it's self explanatory.

Ecc. 3:11
I am always amazed at how quickly my emotions seem to fluctuate. I guess you could call today "one of those days".... where I guess I just feel down in the dumps.
But I was just thinking... I don't have to be happy all the time. I'm human. But what makes my down in the dumps days different is that I have a reliable and loving hope. Yes, Jesus. I pray day after day after day for him to just help me through this season.
Because I don't know what it is. I don't know what's going through my head half the time and it's near impossible to organize the thoughts out. "The greatest knowledge lies in knowing that you know nothing." I learn a lot from Bill and Ted.
So when these days happen, and they will, frequently, I pray. But... if everyone does have these days... and they will... because they're human... what about those that don't know Jesus? That don't have that sense of, "Everything will be okay..." and know that this season will pass?
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
......a time to weep and a time to laugh,....
a time to search and a time to give up,....
a time to be silent and a time to speak,.....
a time for war and a time for peace.
All these times build up to who I am and who I will be. And, apparently, patience is a virtue...

I just really like it!
I'm still so amazed that I'm here. I stress sure. But I'll do that wherever I go. But to be able to stress here... :) God is SO good to me! I don't understand it. Last night I went to the Caf (Cafeteria. Cool people say Caf.) with some friends for dinner. We met up with some more people and I met some new and yada yada. After dinner, my friends Marley, Nick, Shayli, and a person I had just met, Adrian, and I hopped into Adrian's car for a spontaneous drive down the PCH to Laguna Beach. I had no idea where we were going. But the music was loud. The windows were down. The car was full. And we had the best car dancing session ever. So good!
We ended up going to some beach I don't know the name of in Laguna Beach and wow... It was sunset. High tide. And everything was BEAUTIFUL. The colors of the sunset were oranges and pinks and purples. And I just thought about how blessed I was to be there. With amazing new friends...
I wouldn't have seen that had I not chosen this. I was so close to not ever seeing THAT sunset with THOSE people on THAT beach. Instead I took a chance and God's faithfulness and voila!
My classes are going well! I actually care about this so... No slacking! Procrastination always but no slacking! I'm still sitting here not knowing what to major in. But I have this strong pull to go into communications with a minor in anthropology. Last week was missions week at school and I had gone to every chapel and they talked about and showed pictures about all of the missions trips the school has done. It broke my heart. I cried on a few occasions. So... I figure if something can stir me up that much... Maybe I should look into it? I'm not sure. I love my anthropology class though- I'm learning so much! And that goes hand in hand with communications! I just want to know, ya know? I'm doing my best seeking God and what he wants! I will sit in my room with worship music on and read my Bible or In a Pit... again. Although I did that last night and just about fell asleep haha so bed time was early (try 8:40?) haha yeah. The night hadn't even started yet! Of course, it makes since because the night before I was up until... 4:45 writing essays. But hey, that's what a Circle K right down the street is for! Strange things were afoot lemme tell ya....
I got a C+ on the most difficult test I, or anyone, has ever taken. U.S. History with Professor Marley. Praise Jesus for helping me retain and recall what I studied! I pray he does it again Tuesday!
Choosing classes for next semester next week. Kinda stressed that this one is ending. I'm just nervous that there's going to be more money I have to pay. God will provide, I believe that!
I just love college :) Especially Vanguard. There's such a strong since of spirit and community. Plus our men's soccer team is kicking butttttttt! Biola home game on Wednesday and I'm skipping psych to go! Yes, it's THAT intense!
I've found some amazing friends. Marley, most of all. When I first met her she reeeeeally intimidated me. Then she found out how funny I was. Wanted to always hang out. I found out how funny she was and we just clicked and bam! Best friends. It's so great knowing there's always someone who wants to hang out and go to dinner at the caf and just be goooooofy. Haha annnnnd I've got roomies for sophomore year alreay! haha Marley and Whitney here's hoping!
So this is just an update :) Got some pumpkin bread, apple cider, and cookies from mamacita 400 miles away in the great north! It made me miss it actually... I haven't really been all that homesick. At all really. Then I got a wiff of the pumpkin bread and I missed cozy little Lodi. But only for a second.... haha :)
