So, I think I may have found something to be involved in. It's a long shot but... we know how much I love those! Ha.
There are these two ministry groups here at good ol' Vanguard called Entourage and Delivery Boys. They're a comedy ministry group actually! Entourage is four girls and Delivery Boys are four boys (I've never seen Entourage perform skits, but D-Boys did theirs last Thursday at Chapel and it was HILARIOUS! I cried from pure laughter!)
So, I've known about Entourage since I researched Vanguard. And from the get go it seemed like something I'd be interested in!
So, when I found out one of my floor aunts, Kayla (Who is from GALT!!?? this is why we know each other! haha) is on Entourage.... a few months ago... I messaged her on facebook asking how to get involved with it...
Well. It's that time of year that people are auditioning for it. Filling out applications. Interviews. And when I saw Kayla a few days ago she asked me about it to make sure I was applying because she was thinking about me for it! I thought I wasn't able to but I realized I meet the requirements. After talking to Kayla I realized... I do!
What's the best part? Is that everyone thinks I would be good at it! My closest friends here, my RA (who, when asked which girl on her floor would be good at it, put me down!), even people I don't know so well. But besides that... When they talk about what they do, I get goosebumps! It's something I can totally see myself doing!
This is basically what they do:
It's representing Vanguard while having fun and ministering at the same time. Training begins in spring semester and continues through the summer. But- during the summer, the groups travel to church camps, youth groups, etc. being with the kids, serving in kitchens, cleaning up. Only an hour of the week is spent on stage doing skits and being funny. How amazing does that sound!?!
If I do get in... This means I won't be home much for summer (it's a paying job, actually!). Which is.... okay with me! I understand that there's a whole process and a chance that I won't make it... But last time I took a chance it felt and turned out pretty great :)
So here's to chances!
That sounds so cool! And that is so random that she's from Galt- haha! Definitely have to keep us posted with how it all goes. :)
